Rear Suspension: Link Conversions and Long Travel

5-link rear conversions, long travel rear kits, panhard bar systems and billet rear arms for Ford Raptor, F-150, Bronco Raptor, Ranger Raptor and Ram TRX.

The rear end is where most trucks run out of capability first. Fixing it is the biggest single change you can make to how a truck behaves at speed.

What's in This Collection

5-link rear conversions

Rear arm frame mount kits for the Gen 3 Raptor, and full conversions that replace a leaf-sprung rear with a coil-sprung link rear on older trucks.

Panhard bar systems

For long travel Gen 3 Raptors: adjustable 41.5" heim-joint panhard bars, rear frame mounts, rear axle mounts and long travel mount kits rated to around 21" of wheel travel. Billet panhard bars with Ultra-Flex joints for the 2021–2024 F-150 Raptor and the 2022+ Bronco Raptor.

Billet rear suspension arms

Billet aluminium rear arm kits for the 2027 Ram TRX, and rear suspension arm kits for the 2021–2024 TRX.

Platform-specific rear kits

The Ranger Raptor rear long travel kit and Watts link relocation kit, the Bronco Raptor rear mid-travel kit with shock mount and bump stop, and modular bed organizer side shock mounts for long travel setups.

Lift and spacers

Rear spring spacer lift kits in 3/4" and 1" for Ram platforms.

Why the Rear End Matters Most

Front suspension gets the attention because it is visible and because arms and coilovers are easy to picture. But on a truck at speed the rear is usually what limits you.

A leaf-sprung rear has to locate the axle and carry load with the same component, which forces a compromise. Ride height, articulation and axle control all fight each other. A link rear separates those jobs — the links locate the axle, the coil carries the load, and the shock controls motion. That is why every current-generation performance truck ships with one.

Converting is not a bolt-on. Link conversions require welding and are shop-level work. But the change in how the truck tracks over rough ground is larger than anything you can buy for the front.

Panhard Bars and Axle Location

On a link rear the panhard bar controls lateral axle position. As suspension travel increases, the arc the panhard bar swings through matters more, and a bar sized for stock travel will pull the axle sideways at the extremes.

Our long travel panhard components — adjustable bars, relocated frame mounts and axle mounts — are built for setups running toward 21" of wheel travel, keeping the axle centred through the full stroke. Adjustable versions let you correct axle centring after a lift or a spring change.

Rear Suspension FAQs

Is a link rear conversion a bolt-on?

No. Link rear conversions require welding and proper fixturing. This is shop-level work, not a driveway job, and it should be done by someone who has done it before.

Do I need an adjustable panhard bar?

If you have lifted the truck or changed rear spring height, yes — ride height change moves the axle laterally, and an adjustable bar is how you re-centre it. On a stock-height truck it matters less.

Heim joint or Johnny Joint?

A heim joint is precise with minimal deflection and is the race answer, at the cost of more noise and shorter service life on a street truck. A Johnny Joint style uses a rubber or urethane element for a quieter ride and longer intervals. Both are offered on our Ram kits.

How much rear travel can I get?

It depends on the platform and kit. Our long travel panhard components for the Gen 3 Raptor are built for setups running up to roughly 21" of wheel travel; leaf-to-link conversions on older trucks are commonly built around 19".
