Ram RHO Protection Kits

Ram RHO Protection Kits

Underbody skid plate, rear differential skid, rear shock skid and Rear Shock Guard Mud Flap Kit for the 2025 and up Ram 1500 RHO.

The RHO carries the TRX's off-road hardware, and it hangs the same expensive parts below the frame. Fabricated in Mesa, Arizona.

The Four Pieces

  • Underbody Protection Skid Plate Kit — covers the vulnerable centre section: oil pan, transmission, transfer case.
  • Rear Differential Skid Plate Kit — the rear diff sits low, it is cast, and it is not cheap to replace.
  • Rear Shock Skid Kit — protects the base of the rear shocks and their mounting points.
  • Rear Shock Guard Mud Flap Frame Mount Kit — an 18" x 7" heavy-duty rubber flap on a steel bracket, stopping rock and grit from blasting the shock bodies and killing the seals.

All four bolt to factory mounting points. No drilling, no cutting.

Skids and Guards Do Different Jobs

A skid plate stops a single hard impact from below — the rock ledge, the buried stump, the rut you did not see coming. It is armour against one big event.

A shock guard mud flap stops slow attrition — the constant abrasion of grit and small rock thrown off the front tire against the shock body and shaft. It scores the surface, the scoring eats the seal, and the shock leaks. Nothing dramatic ever happens; the shock just quietly dies a season early and you assume that is normal wear.

Trucks that see a lot of high-speed dirt need both. Trucks that mostly crawl rock should start with the skids.

Why the RHO Needs This as Much as a TRX Does

The RHO is the more accessible version of the TRX, and it is easy to assume the lower output means an easier life underneath. It does not.

The RHO shares the chassis, the ride height and the off-road hardware, which means it has the same components hanging in the same exposed places, and owners take it to the same terrain. Ground clearance and rock do not care what is under the hood.

If anything the case is stronger, because a RHO is more likely to be someone's first genuinely capable truck — and the first season is when most of the expensive underbody damage happens.

Ram RHO Protection FAQs

Do Ram TRX skid plates fit the RHO?

Some parts are shared across the Ram 1500 platform and some are not. Order the version listed for the RHO where one exists, and call us at (480) 718-9800 if a product page is ambiguous.

What should I fit first?

The rear differential skid, on any truck that leaves pavement. Then the underbody kit for rocky terrain, or the shock guards for high-speed dirt.

Will these change my approach or departure angles?

They follow the existing underbody line rather than hanging below it, so the effect is minimal. What changes is that a catch point becomes a sliding surface.

Is drilling required?

No. All four kits use existing factory mounting points.

Can I still service the differential?

Yes. The plate comes off with hand tools for cover removal and fluid service.

Are they made in the USA?

Yes. Fabricated at our Mesa, Arizona facility.

Shipping

What countries do you ship to?

We currently ship to the United States, and Canada. To enquire about shipping to a different destination, please contact us. We can assist you with finding a shipping broker to ship products to other US friendly countries.

How long will it take to receive my order?

Standard shipping normally takes 3-5 days after it leaves our facility. Next day shipping is available on all domestic orders (for an additional charge). International shipping times depend on the products and destination (estimated at checkout). Products we have in stock at the time of order normally ship within 48 hours. Products not in stock can take 4-6 weeks depending on production. Consult your customer service representative for details on product stock and how quickly an item can ship to you.

Are Products in stock or built to order?

We try to maintain reasonable stock of all of our Foutz Motorsports manufactured parts but sometimes we will run short and have to manufacture more to fill orders. Some items we only build to stock due to complexity of a kit or sometimes higher cost items would be built to order. Best to consult your sales representative for details on what we have on hand before placing your order. Normally production time runs up to about 4-6 weeks for any items that we dont have on hand.
