Armour for the Parts That Actually Take Hits

Skid plates, differential armour, shock skids and frame guards for Ford Raptor, Bronco, Bronco Raptor, Ranger Raptor, Super Duty, Ram TRX and RHO — bolted to factory mounting points, no cutting or drilling.

Factory skid plates are sized to keep road debris off the driveline, not to survive a rock at speed. These are not.

What's in This Collection

Underbody skid plates

Full front-to-mid armour covering the engine oil pan, transmission and transfer case. Available for the Gen 1 and 2017–2024 Raptor, Bronco, Bronco Raptor, Ranger Raptor, Ranger, and the 2021–2024 and 2027 Ram TRX and RHO. See Underbody Skid Plates.

Differential skid plates

Front and rear, and axle-specific where it matters — Super Duty kits are listed by Dana 60, Dana M256, Dana M275/M300, Sterling 10.25/10.50 and Sterling 11.6. See Differential Skid Plates.

Rear shock skids and guards

Three layers on the rear shock: lower shock skid kits protecting the shock mounts, full-length 6061-T6 aluminium guards protecting the shock bodies, and Rear Shock Guard Mud Flap Kits that block tire roost before it ever reaches the shock. See Rear Shock Skids, Rear Shock Guards & Mud Flap Kits and Mud Flap Kits.

Frame and arm guards

Rear lower arm frame guards with replaceable HDPE slides for the Bronco, Bronco Raptor and Ranger Raptor, plus lower control arm skid plates and travel sensor guards.

Where Trucks Actually Get Damaged

After enough years of race and trail repairs, the same parts come back broken:

The oil pan and transfer case

Lowest points under the front half of the truck. A holed pan ends the day and can end the engine.

The rear differential

Exposed and directly in line with whatever the rear tires roll over.

Lower rear shock mounts

Sit low, unprotected, and a bent one puts the shock out of alignment.

Rear lower arm frame mounts

On link-rear trucks these hang below the frame rail and catch on ledges. Our frame guards add a replaceable HDPE slide so the truck slides over instead of hooking.

Choosing Armour

You do not need all of it. A useful order for most trucks:

  • First — underbody skid plate. Protects the most expensive components.
  • Second — rear differential skid plate. Cheap relative to a diff.
  • Third — rear shock skids and guards, especially on a truck that sees rocks rather than open desert.
  • Then — frame guards, control arm skids and sensor guards as the terrain demands.

Aluminium is used where it balances protection against weight; heavier steel where the impact energy justifies it.

Protection FAQs

Do these bolt to factory mounting points?

Yes. Foutz protection kits use the existing factory locations — no drilling or cutting. Underbody kits for some platforms come in versions for the stock front skid plate and for aftermarket bumpers.

Does a skid plate cost ground clearance?

Any skid plate adds material below the chassis, so there is a small trade. What you get back is that a low point becomes a surface the truck slides across rather than a component that catches and breaks.

Why are Super Duty differential skids listed by axle?

Because the Super Duty ships with several different axles. Dana 60, Dana M256, Dana M275/M300, Sterling 10.25/10.50 and Sterling 11.6 all need different geometry. Identify your axle before ordering.

How much weight does armour add?

It varies by kit. As a reference point, full-length aluminium shock guards run roughly 21 lbs per pair, while a complete underbody skid plate kit is built substantially heavier for true impact protection.

Are these made in the USA?

Yes. Designed, machined and welded in Mesa, Arizona.
