Travel Sensor Guard

Ranger Raptor Travel Sensor Guards

Protective guards that shield the rear suspension travel sensors and their wiring from rock and debris thrown up behind the rear wheel.

Built for the 2024 and up Ford Ranger Raptor, and designed to work alongside the Foutz Motorsports Rear Lower Arm Frame Guard.

What a Travel Sensor Does and Why It Breaks

The Ranger Raptor uses ride height sensors at the rear suspension to tell the truck how far the suspension has moved. That signal feeds the damping and vehicle control systems.

The problem is where they live. The sensor and its arm sit right behind the rear wheel, directly in the firehose of rock, mud and debris that a spinning off-road tire throws. A sensor that takes a rock does not fail politely — it breaks the arm or the body, the signal goes away, and you get a dash warning and degraded suspension behavior until it is replaced.

Replacement is not a cheap part, and on a newer truck it is often a dealer job.

The Two Pieces

  • Rear Suspension Travel Sensor Protection Guard (pair) — covers the sensor bodies and modules on both sides. This is the main kit.
  • Rear Suspension Travel Sensor Wire Protector (add-on) — covers the harness leading to the sensor. The wire is the other failure point; a guarded sensor with an exposed lead still leaves you stranded with a fault code.

Buy them together. Protecting the sensor and leaving the wire bare solves half the problem.

Full Rear Coverage on a Ranger Raptor

These guards were designed to work with the Foutz Motorsports Rear Lower Arm Frame Guard with HDPE Slide. Run both and the rear lower arm mount, the frame, the sensors and the wiring are all covered.

Add the 2024 Ranger Raptor Rear Shock Skid Kit for the shock body and axle mount, and the rear of the truck is fully protected.

These are the best coverage available for this area on this truck, and they are the reason we built them — nobody else was addressing it.

Travel Sensor Guard FAQs

Which trucks do these fit?

The 2024 and newer Ford Ranger Raptor. That is the application we build this kit for.

Is welding or drilling required?

No. These are bolt-on kits.

Will the guard interfere with the sensor reading?

No. The guard shields the sensor from impact without restricting the arm's movement, so the sensor reports normally through full travel.

Do I need the wire protector if I have the guard?

You want both. The guard covers the sensor and module; the wire protector covers the harness run. A damaged harness throws the same fault as a damaged sensor.

Will this fix a sensor fault I already have?

No. If a sensor is already broken it has to be replaced. Install the guards on the new one so it does not happen again.
