Gen 1 Raptor Suspension

Gen 1 Raptor Suspension

Build a Faster, Tougher, More Capable Gen 1

Suspension for the 2010–2014 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor, from bolt-on bump stops and limit straps to full long travel front kits, 5-link rear conversions and Gen 1-to-Gen 3 swaps. Whether you are chasing wheel travel, eliminating bottom-out, or building a Baja-ready pre-runner, this is where the build starts.

Foutz Motorsports was the first to modify a Ford Raptor and the first to race one in the Baja 1000, back in 2008. Every component here is machined and fabricated in Mesa, Arizona.

  • Long travel front kits — fabricated lower and billet upper control arms, spindles and shock relocation for maximum front wheel travel.
  • Mid travel front kits — travel gains using the stock shock location, with either a billet or a fabricated upper arm.
  • 5-link & 4-link rear conversions — long travel coilover rear ends, including a version built for roughly 19 inches of travel, for Gen 1 Raptors and F-150s.
  • Gen 1-to-Gen 3 rear conversion kits — frame mounts, 5-link arm mounts, spring and Panhard bar mounts, bump stop and upper shock mount kits.
  • Bump stops & limit straps — front and rear kits for both stock and fabricated A-arms.
  • Billet top hats — standard and heavy duty, in stock height or 1.5-inch lift, for the factory shock.
  • Control arms & spindles — billet upper arm kits, stock-length fabricated lower A-arms, fabricated spindles, and arm pocket and slot repair kits.
  • Fox 3.0 shocks — factory-upgrade coilovers and internal bypass shocks valved for Foutz front and mid travel kits.
  • Tie rods & steering — billet tie rod and half tie rod kits, tie rod support sleeves and replacement boot kits.
  • Sway bars, shackles & rear ends — front sway bars for stock and fabricated arms, MIG-welded shackles, fabricated shackle hangers, and Currie 9-inch full-floater rear ends.

Why Upgrade the Factory Suspension

The factory Gen 1 Raptor suspension is good off the lot, but it limits travel, bottoms out hard, and uses components that were not built for high-speed desert abuse or oversized tires.

  • More wheel travel — long travel and mid travel kits substantially increase front and rear travel over stock.
  • No more bottom-out — hydraulic bump stops and limit straps control the end of the stroke.
  • Stronger components — billet upper arms, fabricated lower A-arms and spindles built for impacts.
  • Better shocks — Fox 3.0 coilovers and bypass shocks valved specifically for Foutz kits.
  • Modern geometry — Gen 1-to-Gen 3 conversions let you run the current Raptor rear suspension design.

What Fits Your Truck

Every part in this collection is engineered for the first-generation Ford Raptor — model years 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014. Several components, including the long travel 5-link rear coilover conversion, also fit the 2009–2014 Ford F-150. The billet tie rod and half tie rod kits cover 2010–2026 Raptors.

Check each product page for exact fitment, and note that sway bar and front bump stop kits come in separate versions for the stock lower arm and the fabricated lower arm. Look under the front of the truck before ordering.

American Made Quality

Every Foutz Motorsports suspension component is designed and manufactured in the USA, then tested where it counts — in real desert racing and high-speed off-road use. These parts bolt up cleanly, hold up to abuse, and are run by Baja racers, weekend pre-runners and overlanders alike.

Gen 1 Suspension FAQs

What years are the Gen 1 Ford Raptor?

The first-generation Ford F-150 SVT Raptor was produced for the 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014 model years. All suspension parts in this collection are designed for those years, and many also fit the 2009–2014 F-150.

What suspension upgrades fit a Gen 1 Raptor?

Long travel and mid travel front kits, 5-link or 4-link rear conversion kits, billet upper and fabricated lower control arms, hydraulic bump stops and limit straps, billet top hats with optional 1.5-inch lift, Fox 3.0 coilover and bypass shocks, and full Gen 1-to-Gen 3 rear suspension conversions.

What is the difference between mid travel and long travel?

A mid travel kit uses the stock frame mounting points and keeps track width close to stock, so the truck still fits down a trail and into a garage. A long travel kit widens the front track for maximum wheel travel and high-speed desert performance, at the cost of a wider stance and a more involved install.

How much wheel travel can a Gen 1 Raptor get?

With a Foutz long travel front kit and a 5-link rear conversion, a Gen 1 Raptor gains significantly more travel than stock — the long travel 5-link rear coilover conversion is built for up to roughly 19 inches of rear wheel travel.

What is a Gen 1-to-Gen 3 Raptor conversion?

It lets the owner of a 2010–2014 Raptor run the newer 2021+ Gen 3 Raptor's 5-link coil-sprung rear suspension geometry in place of the factory leaf springs. Foutz Motorsports makes the frame mounts, rear arm mounts, spring and Panhard bar mounts, bump stop kits and upper shock mounts needed for the swap. It is a welding job and shop-level work.

Do these parts fit a standard F-150?

Several do, including the long travel 5-link rear coilover conversion, which is designed for both Gen 1 Raptors and 2009–2014 F-150 trucks. Check each product page for exact fitment.

Are Foutz Motorsports suspension parts made in the USA?

Yes. Foutz Motorsports designs and manufactures these Gen 1 Raptor suspension components in the USA, developed and proven through desert racing and high-speed off-road testing.
