Description
A fabricated front spindle kit built specifically for the 2010–2014 Gen 1 Ford F-150 Raptor, designed to work with the standard vacuum 4x4 actuator module. It uses stock ball joint tapers for the upper and lower arms, so it fits the factory arms or any aftermarket arms that mount to the stock ball joint location.
Because it keeps the stock ball joint locations, the spindle does not force you to change everything at once. You can install it now and add other front end parts to your Raptor later, as your build changes.
Why A Fabricated Spindle
The spindle (or upright) is the part the wheel, brake and both control arms hang from. Every load from the tire passes through it into the suspension, and any flex in it shows up as flex at the brake caliper and in the steering.
This upright is built around a CNC machined 2" thick primary backing plate that incorporates the brake caliper mounts. Tying the caliper mounts into that one thick plate reduces flex in the upright assembly. The ball joint mount areas are machined 4130, so the ball joint tapers stay strong and durable.
We also built proper steering stops into the upright, so the steering and CV joints are protected at full lock.
How It Is Built
- Backing plate: CNC machined, 2" thick, with the brake caliper mounts built in
- Sheet metal parts: 4130, MIG welded
- Ball joint mount areas: machined 4130
- Ball joint tapers: stock, for the upper and lower arms
- Steering stops: built in, to protect the steering and CV joints
- Finish: available only in Hammer Black
Fitment
Fits the Gen 1 Ford F-150 Raptor, model years 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014.
- 4x4: works with the standard vacuum 4x4 actuator module
- Control arms: works with the factory upper and lower arms, and with any combination of aftermarket upper and lower arms that mount to the stock ball joint location
- Wheels: works with the factory Raptor wheels
- Tie rods: works with any half tie rod kit or full billet tie rod kit that uses a 7/8" rod end at the wheel
- Brakes: fit verified with the stock brake caliper. No other brake kits have been test fit.
