Gen 1 Protection Kits

Armor Built to Take the Hit

Heavy-duty skid plates, shock guards and differential armor for the 2010–2014 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor — shielding the oil pan, transmission, transfer case, differential and rear shock mounts from rocks, ruts and high-speed desert impacts.

Thick aluminum and steel that bolts to the factory mounting points. No cutting, no drilling. Designed, machined and welded in Mesa, Arizona.

What's in This Collection

  • Underbody Skid Plate Kit — full front-to-mid armor protecting the engine, transmission and transfer case. Offered in versions for the stock front skid plate or for aftermarket bumpers.
  • Rear Differential Skid Plate Kit — wraps and protects the rear diff from rock strikes and high-speed impacts.
  • Full-Length Aluminum Shock Guards — shield the rear shock bodies from debris and damage. Available as a pair or as a single replacement.
  • Rear Lower Shock Skid Kit — protects the vulnerable lower rear shock mounts, where Gen 1 Raptors take the most hits.

Where a Gen 1 Actually Takes Damage

The factory skid plates on a 2010–2014 Raptor were never meant for serious off-road abuse. They are thin stamped steel, sized to keep road debris off the driveline rather than to survive a rock at speed.

Under the front and middle

The engine oil pan, transmission and transfer case sit low and take the first hit when you drop into a rut or climb over rock. A holed oil pan ends the day and can end the engine.

The rear differential

Exposed and directly in line with anything the rear tires kick up or roll over.

The lower rear shock mounts

This is the spot Gen 1 owners damage most. The mount sits low and unprotected, and a bent one puts the shock out of alignment.

Our protection kits replace thin stamped steel with thick aluminum and steel armor bolted to the factory mounting points — no cutting, no drilling, no guesswork. Every kit is field-proven on race trucks and trail rigs, so you can wheel hard and still drive home under your own power.

Gen 1 Raptor Protection FAQs

What years does a Gen 1 Raptor cover?

The Gen 1 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor was produced from 2010 through 2014. All protection kits in this collection are designed specifically for those model years.

Do these skid plates fit the factory mounting points?

Yes. Foutz Gen 1 protection kits bolt directly to the Raptor's factory mounting locations — no drilling or cutting required.

Will these work with an aftermarket front bumper?

Yes. The underbody skid plate kit is offered in two versions — one for trucks running the stock front skid plate, and one for trucks running an aftermarket bumper of any style. Pick the version that matches what is on the truck.

What does a skid plate protect on a Ford Raptor?

Our underbody armor protects the engine oil pan, transmission and transfer case. Additional kits guard the rear differential, the rear shock bodies, and the lower rear shock mounts — the components most likely to be damaged during off-road use.

Does adding a skid plate cost me ground clearance?

Any skid plate adds material below the chassis, so there is a small trade. What you get back is that a low point becomes a surface the truck slides across instead of a component that catches and breaks. On a truck that sees rocks or ruts, that trade is worth making.

Will heavy-duty skid plates add a lot of weight?

Our kits use aluminum where possible to balance maximum protection against minimal weight gain. The full-length aluminum shock guards weigh roughly 21 lbs per pair, while the complete underbody skid plate kit is built heavier for true rock and impact protection.

Are Foutz protection kits made in the USA?

Yes. Every Foutz Motorsports protection kit is designed and manufactured in the United States and built to race-proven standards.
