Bronco Protection Kits

Ford Bronco Skid Plates & Guards

Underbody protection for the 2021 and up Ford Bronco. The Bronco's rear shocks and lower arms sit exposed, and the fuel tank is not well covered from the factory. Fabricated in Mesa, Arizona.

Rear Shock Skids Depend on Your Package

Ford fitted three different rear shock setups, and the skid has to match yours. This is the most common ordering error on this page.

The Rest of the Underside

  • Ford Bronco Skid Plate — the main front underbody plate.
  • Fuel Tank Skid Plate — covers the tank, which is exposed on these trucks.
  • Rear Differential Skid Plate — protects the diff housing.
  • Rear Lower Arm Frame Guard with HDPE slide — protects the frame at the rear lower arm mount and lets the truck slide off obstacles rather than catch on them.
  • Rear Shock Guard Mud Flap Kit — keeps rock and debris off the rear shock bodies.

The HDPE Is Meant to Wear

The frame guards use a replaceable HDPE slide. It is designed as the sacrificial part — when it is worn, you buy the plastic rather than the whole guard. Replacement HDPE skids for Bronco and Bronco Raptor are sold separately in our Serviceable Parts collection.

Bronco Protection FAQs

How do I tell which shocks I have?

HOSS 3.0 shocks carry Ford's HOSS branding and are noticeably larger. Base and Sasquatch trucks run the smaller units. If you are unsure, send us a photo of the rear shock and we will tell you.

Do I need skid plates if I only do trails?

The fuel tank and rear differential are the two worth doing on any Bronco that leaves pavement. The rest depends on how rocky your terrain is.

Do these fit a Bronco Raptor?

Some do and some are Bronco Raptor specific. See our Bronco Raptor Protection Kits collection for that truck.

Will skid plates trap heat?

No. They are designed with drainage and airflow and do not seal the underside.
