Carbon Shock Technologies

This is the part of the catalogue people underrate. A bump stop controls the last few inches of compression; a limit strap controls the end of extension. Get either wrong and you either bottom out hard or let the suspension droop past what the joints were designed for.

Front limit strap & bump stop kits

For the Gen 2 Raptor, Gen 3 Raptor, Bronco Raptor and 2021–2024 and 2027 Ram TRX — each in a version matched to the stock lower arm.

Rear bump stop kits

For the 2015+ F-150 and Gen 2 Raptor, the 2021–2025 Raptor, the 2021+ Bronco and Bronco Raptor, the 2024+ Ranger Raptor, and the Ram TRX and RHO — several with optional hydraulic bump stops.

Adjustable rear bump stops

For the 2021+ Bronco and 2024+ Ranger Raptor, so the strike height can be tuned to the setup rather than fixed.

Keeping the factory shock

If the truck is mostly a daily driver, the highest-value change is usually not a new shock at all — it is a bump stop and limit strap kit, and a spring perch collar if you want ride height. See Lift Collars & Leveling Kits.

Factory upgrade shocks

FOX Live Valve and factory-upgrade bypasses bolt into the stock locations and give a real gain in damping without changing suspension geometry.

Race shocks

3.0" and larger coilovers and multi-tube bypasses are matched to a long travel or mid travel kit and to vehicle weight. Talk to us before ordering — a race shock on stock geometry is money spent in the wrong order.

Do I need new shocks to lift my truck?

Not necessarily. Our spring perch lift collars add ride height while retaining the factory shock and spring. New shocks are about damping and travel, which is a different problem from ride height.

What does a bypass shock actually do?

Bypass tubes let oil route around the piston through part of the stroke, so the shock can be soft in the middle of its travel and firm at the ends. That is what lets a truck stay comfortable on small chop and still resist bottoming on a big hit.

Are hydraulic bump stops worth it?

On a truck that sees whoops or jumps, yes. A hydraulic bump stop absorbs the last part of compression progressively instead of hitting a rubber stop. Several of our rear kits offer them as an option.

Do I need the stock-arm or fabricated-arm version?

Front bump stop and limit strap kits are built around a specific lower control arm. Look under the front of the truck and match the version before ordering.
