All 3.75 inch inside diameter, which is the standard for most 2.5 and 3.0 inch off-road coilovers.

These three cover common Raptor and F-150 coilover setups. Eibach and HyperCo both make the full range of lengths and rates, and we order what is not on the shelf.

The Eibach numbering is not decoration. Take 0800.375.0250S:

• 0800 — free length, 8.00 inches
• 375 — inside diameter, 3.75 inches
• 0250 — spring rate, 250 pounds per inch
• S — the Race Off-Road series

So 2000.375.0450S is a 20 inch, 3.75 ID, 450 lb/in spring in the same series. Once you can read the number you can order exactly what you need without guessing.

Spring rate is where most people get it wrong, in both directions. Too soft and the truck rides on the bump stops and wallows in corners. Too stiff and it skitters over small chop and beats you up — a stiff spring does not make a truck faster in the desert, it makes it slower because you cannot stay in the throttle.

Three things drive the choice:

• Corner weight — what that corner of the truck actually carries. A loaded chase truck is not a bare pre-runner.
• Shock stroke and motion ratio — how far the shock moves relative to the wheel. This is why a spring that works on one truck is wrong on another with the same weight.
• Dual rate setup — most serious coilovers run a main and a tender spring with a slider, giving a soft initial rate for small chop and a firm rate deeper in the stroke. Getting the crossover point right matters more than either individual rate.

Will a 3.75 ID spring fit my shock?

3.75 inches is the common ID for 2.5 and 3.0 inch off-road coilovers from FOX, King, ADS and others. Check your shock's spec — some 2.0 inch coilovers use a smaller ID.

Do I need to buy springs in pairs?

For a given axle, yes — the two sides should match or the truck will sit and handle unevenly. We list the 8 inch 250 both as a single and as a bundled pair for that reason.

Do springs wear out?

They sag over time, especially if they have been coil-bound or over-compressed repeatedly. If the truck sits lower than it used to at the same preload, that is a sagged spring.
