Ford F-150 Suspension Upgrades & Lift Kits

Suspension for the Standard F-150, Not Just the Raptor

Billet upper control arms, billet top hat lifts, rear bump stops, mid travel and long travel front kits and 5-link rear conversions for the 2015 and up Ford F-150. Start with the parts that fail first on a stock truck, like the rubber-bushed factory top hat, and step up to Raptor-width front suspension when you are ready for Raptor bodywork or fiberglass fenders. Machined and fabricated in Mesa, Arizona.

Choose Your F-150 Suspension Upgrade Path

Every part on this page fits the standard 2015 and up Ford F-150. The big decision is how wide you are willing to go, because Raptor-width front suspension sits wider than a stock F-150 body.

Goal Parts Bodywork
Stronger front end at stock height Billet upper control arms and a stock-height billet top hat None
A little front lift Phase 1 billet top hat (about 3/4") or Phase 2 (about 1.25") None
Mid travel Gen 2 Raptor-width mid travel kit, about 3" wider per side than a stock F-150 Raptor bodywork or aftermarket fiberglass fenders
Long travel Long travel front kit, about 6" wider per side than a stock F-150 Wide fiberglass bodywork

Raptor bodywork or aftermarket fiberglass fenders is the customer's choice on a mid travel build.

Billet Upper Control Arms

The billet upper control arm kit is stock length and fits the 2015 through 2026 Ford F-150. It is the usual first upgrade after a level. For why it matters, read Upper Control Arms: Caster After a Level.

Billet Top Hats and Small Lifts

The factory top hat supports the shock shaft with a rubber bushing, the main weak point that causes factory top hats to fail, especially with aftermarket springs. When one fails it can let the shock drop out of the spring bucket and damage other suspension parts.

FMI billet top hats are CNC machined from 6061-T6 aluminum with FK uniballs and 12mm studs to match the 2015 to 2026 F-150 shock towers.

  • Stock height: replaces the factory top hat with no lift.
  • Phase 1: adds preload to the stock spring for about 3/4" of lift, with no lower spring collar needed.
  • Phase 2: about 1.25" of lift.
  • Heavy Duty versions: larger wide-series 7/8" FK uniballs and a threaded top retainer, in stock height, Phase 1 and Phase 2.

Mid Travel and Long Travel Front Suspension

The Gen 2 Raptor front kits also install on any 2015 and up F-150. On a standard F-150 they sit wider than stock, so plan the bodywork with the suspension.

  • Mid travel kit: 4130 fabricated lower arms, billet aluminum upper arms and frame mounts. Keeps the stock spindle and works with the factory coil-over or an aftermarket shock that fits the stock location, with an optional 3" bypass shock. Mounting the bypass shock tower requires welding.
  • Long travel kit: 4130 fabricated lower arms, billet upper arms, fabricated spindles and billet tie rods, with up to 17" of working travel and four-wheel drive kept. Requires cutting and welding by a qualified fabricator.
  • Coil bucket conversion kit: weld-in kit that updates a 2015 and up F-150 to fit Gen 2 Raptor shocks.

Rear Suspension and Bump Stops

  • Rear bump stop kit: fits the 2015 and up F-150 and the 2017 to 2020 Raptor. Bolt-on with no drilling, for 2.5" Fox, King or ADS bump stops.
  • 5-link long travel rear conversion: a Raptor-style 5-link rear for the 2015 and up F-150 with 19" of travel.
  • Gen 2 to Gen 3 Raptor rear conversion kits: standard and long travel versions for the 2015 and up F-150. See how the conversion works.

Lower Control Arm Pocket Repair

The lower control arm pocket replacement kit is a weld-in kit for 2015 through 2026 F-150 frames with impact-damaged lower arm pockets. See all options in Raptor and F-150 Lower Control Arm Pocket Kits.

F-150 Suspension FAQs

Do Raptor suspension parts fit a regular F-150?

Some do. The Gen 2 Raptor mid travel and long travel front kits, the Gen 2 rear bump stop kit and the 5-link rear conversions all fit the 2015 and up F-150. The front kits sit wider than a stock F-150, so they need Raptor bodywork or fiberglass fenders.

What is the best first suspension upgrade for an F-150?

Billet upper control arms and billet top hats. They replace the factory parts most likely to wear or fail and keep the truck at stock width.

How much lift do billet top hats give an F-150?

The Phase 1 top hat adds about 3/4" and the Phase 2 about 1.25" with the stock front spring. The stock-height version adds none.

Do I need fiberglass fenders for a mid travel kit on an F-150?

Yes, or Raptor bodywork. A Raptor-width kit sits about 3" wider per side than a stock F-150. It is the customer's choice which body route to take.
