The factory lower control arm pocket is a common failure point on trucks pushed hard off-road. When it bends or cracks it takes your alignment, your ride quality and the structural integrity of the mount with it. These are the weld-in kits that repair and reinforce it — replacement pockets, gussets and slot-delete plates for Gen 1, Gen 2 and Gen 3 Raptor and the 2015 and up F-150.

Purpose of Each Kit

Replacement Pocket: Fixes a damaged factory pocket by replacing it with added strength and durability at one of the truck's most stressed suspension points.
Reinforcement Gusset: Protects a healthy pocket before damage happens with weld-in plates that add structural support to the factory frame mount.
Slot-Delete Plate: Removes the alignment slot and strengthens both front and rear lower arm locations with a weld-in plate.

Low Profile: The new design improves ground clearance and durability, providing a lower-profile version compatible with Lower Arm Slot Delete Insert Kits.
Standard: Strengthens the lower pocket where the control arm attaches, reinforcing one of the truck's most stressed suspension points.
Both kits are compatible with the Foutz alignment slot block kits and slot-delete kits.

Reinforcement Kit

Best for protecting the entire lower control arm pocket from bending, cracking, and trail impacts.
Adds structural strength while improving ground clearance.
Full-surface fitment — designed to fit as close as possible to the complete outer surface of the stock lower arm mount plates.
Edge-to-edge coverage — extends to the outer edges of the plate, not just the surface.
Two-point weld attachment — welds attach to both the stock base plate and the upper edge of the frame, strengthening the whole assembly.

What Is the Benefit of Each Gusset Plate?

Top cross plate: Prevents the pocket from folding in and adds weld area at the point where cracks most commonly start and tear off the frame.
Pocket plates: Extends to the outer edges of the stock mount so welds attach to both the base plate and the upper edge of the frame, strengthening the whole assembly.
Bottom cap plate: Supports the width of the mount and keeps the side plates from folding in at the stock lower arm pivot area.
Drain holes: Integrated into each gusset to prevent water buildup.

Will these work with stock or aftermarket lower control arms?

Yes. Every kit in this collection works with the factory arms and with Foutz fabricated lower control arms, and all of them are compatible with our alignment slot block kits and slot-delete kits.

Can I install this myself?

No. These kits require welding and must be installed by a qualified fabricator. They ship raw and unwelded.

Which kit do I need, a replacement pocket or a gusset?

If the factory pocket is already cracked, elongated or torn, you need the replacement pocket. If it is still sound and you want it to stay that way, the weld-in gusset is the preventive option. The slot-delete plate is the choice when you also want to remove the alignment slot.
