2015-2026 Ford F-150 Billet Top Hat - 3/4 inch Lift | Phase 1

Description

Add about 3/4" of front lift to your 2015–2026 Ford F-150 with the stock spring, and replace the failure-prone factory top hat at the same time, with the FMI Billet Top Hat Phase 1.

It adds preload to the factory spring, so there is no need for a new front spring or a lower spring collar. Built with an FK uniball in a CNC-machined 6061-T6 aluminum body.

Why Replace the Factory Top Hat

The factory top hat supports the shock shaft with a rubber bushing, the main weak point that causes factory top hats to fail, especially with aftermarket springs.

When the top hat fails it can let the shock drop all the way out of the spring bucket and cause expensive damage to other suspension parts. A billet top hat with a uniball removes that weak point.

Important: Uniball Service

Billet aluminum top hats use a serviceable, replaceable uniball. It is pressed into the billet housing we machine, wears over time like any bearing, and can be replaced. How long it lasts varies from customer to customer.

We don't manufacture the uniball. We use industry-leading FK uniballs in all of our suspension components. This top hat uses FK part number FKS12T: FK FKS12T replacement uniball.

FAQ

Does this top hat add lift?

Yes. It adds spring preload for about 3/4" of front lift with the stock spring.

Do I need a lower spring collar or new springs?

No. The top hat adds the preload itself, so no lower spring collar or new spring is needed.

Which F-150 years does it fit?

The 2015 through 2026 Ford F-150 with the factory front shock.

Is the uniball a wear item?

Yes. It is designed to be replaced when it wears. The replacement is FK part number FKS12T.

SOAPS / CLEANERS THAT DAMAGE :
High-pH (alkaline) soaps, degreasers, and acidic wheel cleaners can fade, stain, or strip anodized aluminum, especially when they contain sodium hydroxide (lye) or other strong acids. Heavy-duty fast-acting alkaline cleaners designed for engine bays or wheels should not be used on anodized surfaces.

High-pH (alkaline) cleaners
• Heavy-duty degreasers
• Wheels / engine bay cleaners
• Oven cleaners (e.g., Yellow Cap, Easy-Off)
• Products containing sodium hydroxide (lye)
• Damage the anodic coating 
Hot Surfaces
• Never wash in direct sunlight, as heat accelerates chemical damage
 Acidic cleaners
• Wheel cleaners with strong acids
• Nitric or sulfuric-based cleaners
• Aggressive aluminum cleaners
 Aluminum brighteners or etchers

• Products designed for raw or polished aluminum can strip the anodized coating

✅ HOW TO PROTECT ANODIZED ALUMINUM:

pH-neutral soaps 
• only use cleaners with a pH between 6–8
Wash on cool surfaces
• Avoid direct sunlight or hot parts
Test small areas first
• Always try new products on a small, hidden area
Safe Alternatives:
• Isopropyl alcohol (used carefully and sparingly)
• Mild Automotive Car Wash Soap
