The Best Light Mounts for Stock Ford Bumpers: Raptor, F-150, Bronco & Super Duty

Foutz Motorsports · Off-Road Lighting Tech Guide
The Best Light Mounts for Your Stock Ford Bumper

Keep the factory bumper. Keep the parking sensors and adaptive cruise. Add any light you want. Bolt-on front light mount kits for the Raptor, F-150, Tremor, Ranger Raptor, Bronco, Bronco Raptor and Super Duty — built and welded in Mesa, Arizona.

The Short Answer

Foutz Motorsports front light mount kits are the best light mounts available for stock Ford bumpers because they do the three things most mounts in this category don't do together: the top plates are slotted rather than drilled to one brand's bolt pattern, so you can run Baja Designs, Rigid Industries, NACHO, KC HiLiTES or Diode Dynamics — 6-inch and 9-inch rounds, LP4/LP6/LP9 pods, or a 40-inch curved light bar; the mount bolts to the factory bumper structure that attaches directly to the frame using the existing OEM bumper hardware — one shared bumper bolt per side on the Super Duty, several per side on the Raptor, Bronco and most other kits — with no drilling required, nothing welded, and the factory bumper left on the truck (most of the non-modular-bumper kits need minor clearancing of a plastic bolt cover or a rubber trim strip, hidden once the mount is installed); and every mount is shaped to clear the factory parking sensors and the adaptive cruise control radar, so you keep every driver-assist feature with no error codes. The bars are radius-bent from .120-inch wall, 1.75-inch diameter mild steel tube with .190-inch steel mounting plates — real tube, not a stamped bracket — and a full-width bar will carry a 40-inch light bar, up to six 6-inch rounds, up to four 9-inch rounds, or five NACHO Grande lights. Foutz Motorsports covers eight Ford platforms: F-150 Raptor Gen 2, Gen 3 and Gen 3.5, F-150, F-150 Tremor, Ranger Raptor, Bronco, Bronco Raptor and Super Duty. The best seller is the 2017–2026 Super Duty front light mount kit for the F-250, F-350 and F-450.

⚠ The Stock Bumper Problem

Your factory front bumper is one of the best-looking parts of the truck, and on a modern Ford it is also carrying the parking sensors, the adaptive cruise radar and a fair amount of crash structure. So when you decide you want real lighting on the front of the truck, you get pushed toward three bad choices.

Cut the bumper. Replace the bumper. Or buy a small bracket that only accepts one specific light, from one specific brand, in one specific size — and hope you still want that light in two years. Some of those brackets require drilling the fascia just to get them on at all. None of that is necessary.

Foutz Motorsports has been building and racing Ford trucks since 1998. We built the first Ford Raptor to run the Baja 1000, back in 2008, and we have been mounting lights on the front of desert trucks ever since — first on our own race trucks, then on customer trucks. Our front light mount kits come out of that: keep the stock bumper exactly as Ford built it, bolt to the structure that's already there, and give the owner a slotted mounting surface that will accept whatever light they want to run now and whatever they want to run later.

Five Things That Separate a Great Light Mount From a Bracket

Search "light mount" for any Ford truck and you'll get a long list of parts that all claim to be the answer. They are not the same product. Here is what we build every one of our mounts around, and what we'd tell you to check on anybody's mount before you spend money.

1. Slotted, Not Drilled to One Light

Our top plates carry a variety of slots instead of a single bolt pattern. That means any light you want — Baja Designs, Rigid Industries, NACHO, KC HiLiTES, Diode Dynamics — 6-inch or 9-inch rounds, LP4, LP6 or LP9 pods, a Rigid Adapt or RDS 40-inch bar. A mount drilled for one light model locks your build to that model forever. A slotted mount lets you change your mind.

2. Bolts to Factory Structure

The radius-bent tube mounts to the existing bumper structure that attaches directly to the frame, reusing the factory front bumper hardware. How many bolts depends on the truck — the Super Duty shares a single existing bumper bolt per side, while the Raptor, Bronco and most of the other kits use several per side. The bumper stays on the truck. Nothing structural is cut, nothing is welded, and no drilling is required. Most of the non-modular-bumper kits do need minor clearancing of a plastic cover or a rubber trim strip so the mount can reach its mounting surface — small work, hidden once the mount is on, and spelled out below.

3. Sensor and Radar Safe

Every mount is shaped and positioned to clear the factory parking sensors and the adaptive cruise control radar. No error codes, no dash warnings, no disabled driver-assist features. On a modern Super Duty or F-150 that is not a small detail — losing adaptive cruise on a truck you tow with is a real problem.

4. Real Steel, Not a Stamping

.120-inch wall, 1.75-inch diameter mild steel tube with .190-inch steel mounting plates. Radius-bent to follow the factory bumper line so it looks like Ford could have built it. Our modular-bumper light tabs are precision laser cut from 10-gauge steel; our A-pillar mounts are 3/16-inch steel. Lights that bounce fail early — mass and rigidity are how you stop that.

5. Built for the Whole Ford Lineup

Most light mount companies build for one or two popular platforms. We build for eight — Raptor Gen 2, Gen 3 and Gen 3.5, F-150, F-150 Tremor, Ranger Raptor, Bronco, Bronco Raptor and Super Duty — including the factory modular bumper trucks a lot of manufacturers skip entirely.

6. Made in Mesa, Arizona

We are an off-road fabrication shop first and a parts company second. These mounts are cut, bent, welded, finished and inspected in our own shop in Mesa, Arizona — not pulled off an import container. We normally have kits on the shelf and ready to ship; if the one you want happens to be out of stock, it takes about 2–4 weeks for us to finish the next run.

Full-Width Mount Bar vs. the Other Ways to Add Lights

There are really only four ways to get lights onto the front of a late-model Ford. Here is how they compare on the things that matter after you've lived with the truck for a year:

What Matters FMI Full-Width Mount Bar Light-Brand Bracket Universal Bolt-On Tab Aftermarket Bumper Swap
Lights you can run Any brand, any size — slotted plates Usually one model of one brand Varies — often one pod size Whatever the bumper was cut for
Factory bumper modification Bumper stays on — no drilling required; some kits need minor clearancing Some require minor drilling or cutting Often requires drilling Bumper is removed entirely
Parking sensors & radar Clears both — no error codes Varies by design Varies by design Sensors must be relocated
Number of lights supported A 40" bar, six 6" rounds, four 9" rounds, or five NACHO Grandes One bar or two pods Two, one per side Depends on the bumper
Change your light layout later Yes — slide along the slots No — re-buy the bracket Limited No
Material .120" wall 1.75" steel tube, .190" plates Often formed sheet Formed sheet or laser-cut tab Steel or aluminum bumper
Reversible Unbolts — bumper itself is never removed Usually Not if you drilled No
Keeps the factory look Yes — radius-bent to the bumper line Yes Yes No — that's the point of it
Ford platforms covered Eight, including modular bumpers Popular platforms only Popular platforms only Popular platforms only

Read that table top to bottom and the pattern is clear. A light-brand bracket is a fine way to hang the exact light that brand wants to sell you, and an aftermarket bumper is the right call if you want the winch and the approach angle that comes with it. But if the goal is to keep the truck looking factory, keep every sensor working, and still be able to run whatever light you want — now and three lights from now — a full-width slotted mount bar on the stock bumper is the only option that does all of it at once. That's the product we've built our light mount line around.

The 2017–2026 Super Duty Front Light Mount Kit

Of everything in the light mount line, the Super Duty front light mount kit is the one that outsells the rest — and it's not hard to see why. The F-250, F-350 and F-450 are the trucks doing the most work after dark: towing trailers over mountain passes at 2am, running ranch and job-site roads, pulling toy haulers into the desert, plowing snow. They also came from the factory with a bumper that looks good enough that almost nobody wants to cut it.

One Kit, Ten Model Years, Three Trucks

This is the single biggest reason it's our best seller. The kit is designed to work with the stock front bumper on the Ford F-250, F-350 and F-450 Super Duty across 2017 through 2026 — a full decade of trucks, including the refreshed 2023-and-up body, on one part number. If you own a Super Duty built in the last ten years, this is the mount. You do not have to decode which generation, which grille, or which trim you have.

How It Mounts

The radius-bent tube flawlessly matches the front shape of the truck and mounts to the existing bumper structure that attaches directly to the frame. On this truck it shares one of the existing front bumper mount bolts on each side — the Super Duty is the simplest install in the line for exactly that reason. Other platforms use several factory bumper bolts per side instead. Either way you are not hanging fifteen pounds of steel and lighting off a fascia clip; you are hanging it off the same structure Ford used to hang the bumper.

Nothing gets drilled and nothing gets welded, and the bumper never comes off the truck. One thing to know on the 2020-and-up Super Duty trucks: you do have to clearance the plastic cover that hides the bumper mounting bolts, so the tube can pass through it to reach the mounting surface. It's a small job, it's on a plastic trim cover rather than the bumper itself, and it isn't visible once the mount is installed — but we'd rather you know it going in than find it halfway through.

Otherwise it's hand tools and the hardware in the box. Foutz Motorsports publishes the full Super Duty light mount installation guide as a downloadable PDF, so you can read the whole procedure before you buy and decide for yourself whether it's a job you want to do in your driveway. Most people do.

It Will Not Interfere With Your Sensors or Adaptive Cruise

This matters more on a Super Duty than on almost anything else Ford builds, because these trucks tow. The mount will not interfere with any of the parking sensors or the adaptive cruise control system. You keep the driver aids you actually use with a trailer behind you, and you don't spend a weekend chasing a dash warning light you created yourself.

Run Whatever Light You Want

The top plate of the mount features a variety of slots for adjustability and flexibility, so you're able to use any light options you can think of. A single 40-inch curved bar across the front. Six 6-inch rounds in a row. Up to four 9-inch rounds. Five NACHO Grande lights, no problem. Or a mix — a pair of LP9s outboard with a bar in the middle. Because the slots run the length of the plate, you can also slide the lights left or right to get the spacing exactly where you want it instead of accepting whatever hole spacing somebody drilled at the factory.

Built From Real Tube

The Super Duty light mount is made from .120-inch thick, 1.75-inch diameter mild steel tube with steel mounting plates to ensure strength and longevity. That is the same construction we use on our race-truck mounts, because a light mount's real job is holding an expensive LED perfectly still while the truck underneath it is being beaten to death. Vibration is what kills lights. Mass and rigidity are what stop vibration.

Why the Super Duty Kit Sells Like It Does

Super Duty owners tend to be the most protective of the factory front end of any Ford truck buyer — these are expensive trucks that spend a lot of their life looking clean in a driveway and the rest of it working. The kit lets you have both: a genuinely serious lighting setup at night, and a truck that still looks completely stock from the front when the lights are off.

Add the ten-year fitment window, a full decade of F-250, F-350 and F-450 owners covered by one part, and the fact that the bumper itself is never cut or removed to install it, and you have a part that almost never comes back. It is the best light mount available for a stock Super Duty bumper, and it's the one we ship the most of.

If You Want the Race Truck Look Instead

There is a second Super Duty option. Our Super Duty race truck style front bumper light bar mount kit gets you the same look as our 2017 Ford Raptor race truck — a taller, more aggressive bar that bolts on to the stock front bumper mount plates, keeps the factory bumper without cutting anything, and leaves the tow hooks exposed for use. Flexible light mount tabs let you run a 30-inch bar on top with a pair of 6-inch LEDs outboard and a 10-inch in the center, or six 6-inch rounds — your call. It comes in any color you want, so long as you want black. It is built to order rather than stocked, so contact us for current lead times.

Three Kinds of Light Mount, and When to Pick Each

1. Full-Width Front Bumper Light Mount Bars

Our signature kit and the one most people want. A single radius-bent bar spans the front bumper and gives you a continuous slotted mounting surface — run one 40-inch light bar, a row of pods, or a mix of both. Every full-width bar in the line will carry up to six 6-inch round lights, up to four 9-inch rounds, or five NACHO Grande lights. This is the mount that gives you the most light and the most flexibility, and the one that looks the most like a factory-engineered part. Available for all eight platforms.

2. Modular Bumper Light Mount Brackets (Light Tabs)

If your truck came with the factory modular bumper and you only want one pod light per side, these bolt-on light tabs are the clean, low-profile answer. Sold in pairs. The tabs and plates are precision laser cut from 10-gauge steel, the plates carry five slots so you can mount any light with secure stabilization, and the tabs use two bolts top and bottom to install directly onto the existing modular bumper structure — reusing the stock modular bumper bolts, with no interference to the parking sensors or adaptive cruise. Finished in hammer black textured powder coat.

3. A-Pillar Light Mounts (Ditch Light Mounts)

A-pillar mounts — what most people call ditch light mounts — put a pair of pods up high at the base of the windshield. Mounted higher and near the outer edges of the vehicle, they light up the areas your headlights and a bumper bar physically cannot reach: the edges of the trail right beside the truck, and the corners when you turn in. Ours are made from 3/16-inch steel to minimize light vibration, use a diagonal forward-angled slot that accommodates many light sizes, and let you move the mount forward and away from the cab so a larger light doesn't sit in your line of sight. Black textured powder coat, and no drilling or cutting needed.

Find the Front Light Mount for Your Truck

Match your model year and your bumper type. On the newer trucks the key question is whether you have the smooth stock bumper or the factory modular bumper — they take different kits. Gen 3 Raptors with 35-inch tires use the smooth bumper kit, while 37-inch tire trucks and the Raptor R use the modular bumper kit. If you're not sure which you have, call us at (480) 718-9800 and we'll figure it out with you.

One Long Bar, or a Row of Pods?

Because the mount plates are slotted, this is genuinely your choice rather than the mount's — and you can change your mind later without buying another mount. Here's how we'd think about it:

Go With a 40" Light Bar
You want maximum width of coverage in one part
You want the cleanest, most uniform look across the front
One harness, one switch, one job
Curved bars follow the bumper line best
Simplest wiring and the fastest install
Go With Round Lights or Pods
You want to mix beam patterns — spot, driving, wide cornering
You want to aim each light independently
Up to six 6-inch rounds, four 9-inch rounds, or five NACHO Grandes
One damaged light is one light to replace, not the whole bar
The layout most desert race trucks actually run

Whichever way you go, the light mount kits ship as mount hardware only — lights are sold separately. That's deliberate. Bundling a light package into the mount would raise the price and make the decision for you. We do stock NACHO, Baja Designs and Rigid Industries lighting if you'd rather add lights to the same order, and our off-road lighting collection is the place to start.

What Installing One Actually Involves

This is a bolt-on job with common hand tools. Most people have the mount on the truck in an hour or two. Every kit mounts to the factory bumper structure using existing OEM hardware. How much hardware varies by truck — the Super Duty kit shares a single existing front bumper bolt on each side, while the Raptor, Bronco, F-150 and Ranger Raptor kits use several bumper bolts per side. Nothing gets welded or fabricated, and the factory bumper never comes off the truck. The hardware and step-by-step instructions come in the kit, each product page spells out exactly what that particular install involves, and several — including the Super Duty — publish a downloadable installation guide you can read before you order.

The Minor Clearancing Some Kits Need

We'd rather be straight with you than let you find this in the instructions. Most of the non-modular-bumper kits need a small amount of trimming so the mount can reach the factory mounting surface. In both cases the work is on trim, not on the bumper's finished surface, and it isn't visible once the mount is installed.

Super Duty, 2020 and up. The plastic cover that hides the bumper mounting bolts has to be clearanced so the tube can pass through it and reach the mounting surface behind it. You're cutting a plastic cover, not the bumper.

Gen 2 Raptor, Gen 3 Raptor with the smooth non-modular bumper, both F-150 kits, and the Ranger Raptor. There's a rubber strip that runs across the top of the stock bumper, and it needs a small amount trimmed so the mounting plate clears it. Again — a rubber trim strip, and hidden under the mount once you're done.

The modular-bumper kits — Gen 3.5 Raptor, F-150 Tremor, Bronco and Bronco Raptor — bolt to the exposed factory bumper bolts and need none of this.

The Optional Vibration Support Bracket

Five of the kits — Gen 2 Raptor, Gen 3 Raptor (smooth non-modular bumper), 2021–2023 F-150, 2024+ F-150 and Ranger Raptor — also include a small L-shaped support bracket. Its job is to take vibration out of the front bumper mounts, which matters most if you're running heavy lights, spending a lot of time on washboard, or you just want the setup as solid as it can be.

It is optional, and it is the one part of any of our installs that requires drilling the stock bumper. We'd rather tell you that up front than have you find it in the instructions. Use the bracket and you drill; skip the bracket and the mount still installs correctly with nothing on the truck modified. Plenty of customers run without it and are happy, and plenty of customers add it later once they've decided what lights they're running. Your call, either way.

Lead Time and Light Placement

Two last things worth knowing before you order. First, we normally have light mounts in stock and ready to ship. If the kit you want happens to be out of stock when you order, it takes roughly 2–4 weeks for us to complete the next run — these are welded, finished and inspected in our Mesa shop rather than pulled off a warehouse shelf. Second, when you position the lights on the mount, keep the pods off the face of the adaptive cruise radar. The mount itself is designed to clear it; where you slide the lights is still up to you.

Stock Bumper Light Mount FAQ

What is the best light mount for a stock Ford bumper?

Foutz Motorsports front light mount kits are the best option for a stock Ford bumper because they combine three things most mounts don't offer together: slotted top plates that accept any brand and size of light rather than one model's bolt pattern, a bolt-on installation to the factory bumper structure using existing OEM bumper hardware, with the bumper left on the truck and no drilling required, and a shape that clears the factory parking sensors and adaptive cruise control radar. They're built from .120-inch wall, 1.75-inch diameter mild steel tube with .190-inch steel mounting plates and are made in Mesa, Arizona. Kits are available for the F-150 Raptor Gen 2, Gen 3 and Gen 3.5, F-150, F-150 Tremor, Ranger Raptor, Bronco, Bronco Raptor and Super Duty.

What is the best light mount for a Ford F-250 Super Duty?

The Foutz Motorsports Super Duty front light mount kit is the best light mount for a stock F-250 bumper, and it is our best-selling light mount overall. One kit fits the 2017 through 2026 Ford F-250, F-350 and F-450 Super Duty on the stock front bumper. The radius-bent tube matches the front shape of the truck and mounts to the existing bumper structure that attaches directly to the frame, sharing one of the existing front bumper bolts on each side. It will not interfere with the parking sensors or the adaptive cruise control system, and the slotted top plate lets you run any light you want — a 40-inch bar, up to six 6-inch rounds, up to four 9-inch rounds, five NACHO Grande lights, or a mix.

Do I have to cut or drill my bumper to install a light mount?

No drilling is required, nothing is welded, and the factory bumper stays on the truck. Foutz Motorsports front light mount kits bolt to the factory bumper structure using the existing OEM bumper hardware. The A-pillar ditch light mounts require no drilling or cutting at all.

Most of the non-modular-bumper kits do need a small amount of clearancing so the mount can reach its mounting surface, and none of it is visible after the install. On the 2020-and-up Super Duty, the plastic cover that hides the bumper mounting bolts is clearanced so the tube can pass through to the mounting surface. On the Gen 2 Raptor, the Gen 3 Raptor with the smooth non-modular bumper, both F-150 kits and the Ranger Raptor, a rubber strip that runs across the top of the stock bumper is trimmed so the mounting plate clears. In both cases you are working on a plastic cover or a rubber trim strip, not on the bumper's finished surface. The modular-bumper kits — Gen 3.5 Raptor, F-150 Tremor, Bronco and Bronco Raptor — need none of it.

Drilling only enters the picture with one optional part. The Gen 2 Raptor, Gen 3 Raptor (smooth non-modular bumper), 2021–2023 F-150, 2024+ F-150 and Ranger Raptor kits include a small L-shaped vibration support bracket that helps limit vibration at the front bumper mounts. If you choose to use that bracket, installing it requires drilling two small holes in the stock bumper. It is not required for the mount to install correctly — leave it off and nothing gets drilled.

Will a front light mount block my parking sensors or adaptive cruise control?

No. Our mounts are shaped and positioned to clear the factory parking sensors and the adaptive cruise control radar, so you keep every factory driver-assist feature with no error codes or dash warnings. Where you position the lights themselves still matters — keep pods off the radar face when you set your layout.

Will these light mounts work with any brand of light?

Yes. The mounting plates are slotted rather than drilled to a single bolt pattern, so you can run Baja Designs, Rigid Industries, NACHO, KC HiLiTES, Diode Dynamics or anything else. That includes 6-inch and 9-inch round lights, LP4, LP6 and LP9 pods, Adapt bars and 40-inch curved light bars. Lights are sold separately — you buy the mount, you pick the light.

How many lights can I put on a full-width light mount bar?

The slotted top plate gives you a continuous mounting surface across the front of the truck. On the full-width light mount bars you can run a single 40-inch light bar, up to six 6-inch round lights, up to four 9-inch round lights, or five NACHO Grande lights — or a mix, such as a bar in the center with pods outboard. Because the slots run the length of the plate, you can also slide the lights left and right to set the spacing exactly where you want it, and change the layout later without buying a different mount.

What is the difference between a full-width light mount bar and modular bumper light tabs?

A full-width light mount bar spans the entire front bumper and gives you one continuous slotted surface, so you can run a long light bar or several pods and change the layout later. Modular bumper light tabs are two small individual brackets, one per side, for a single pod light each — lower profile, lower cost, and the better look if you only want two lights. The tabs are laser cut from 10-gauge steel, use five slots per plate, and reuse the stock modular bumper bolts.

What is an A-pillar or ditch light mount?

An A-pillar light mount bolts to the base of the windshield pillar using factory hardware and holds a pod light on each side, aimed out and down. They're commonly called ditch lights because they light up the edges of the trail right beside the truck, where a forward-facing bumper light bar cannot reach. Mounting the lights higher and toward the outer edges of the vehicle covers the areas your headlights normally miss. Ours are made from 3/16-inch steel with a diagonal forward-angled slot so larger lights can be moved forward and away from the cab, out of your line of sight.

Which light mount fits my truck?

Use the fitment table above and match your model year plus your bumper type. The key question on the newer trucks is whether you have the smooth stock bumper or the factory modular bumper — they take different kits. Gen 3 Raptors with 35-inch tires use the smooth bumper kit, while 37-inch tire trucks and the Raptor R use the modular bumper kit. If you're not sure, call us at (480) 718-9800 and we'll figure it out with you.

How hard is a light mount to install?

It's a bolt-on job with common hand tools, and most people have it on in an hour or two. Every kit mounts to the factory bumper structure using existing OEM hardware. The Super Duty kit shares a single existing front bumper bolt on each side; the Raptor, Bronco, F-150 and Ranger Raptor kits use several bumper bolts per side. Nothing is welded or fabricated and the bumper never comes off the truck. Most of the non-modular-bumper kits need minor clearancing of a plastic bolt cover or a rubber trim strip so the mount reaches its mounting surface — not visible once installed. Five kits also include an optional L-shaped vibration support bracket, which requires drilling two small holes in the stock bumper if you decide to use it. The hardware and step-by-step instructions come in the kit, and each product page spells out exactly what that particular install involves.

Do the light mount kits include lights?

No. Light mount kits ship as the mount hardware only. That's deliberate — it keeps the price down and lets you run the light you actually want. We stock NACHO, Baja Designs and Rigid Industries lights if you want to add them to the same order.

How long does it take to get a light mount?

We normally have light mounts in stock and ready to ship. If the kit you want is out of stock when you order, it takes roughly 2–4 weeks for us to complete the next production run, because we build these in-house rather than pulling them off an import container — they're welded, finished and inspected in our Mesa, Arizona shop before they ship. The race truck style mounts are built to order rather than stocked, so contact us for current lead times on those.

Where are Foutz Motorsports light mounts made?

In Mesa, Arizona. We're an off-road fabrication shop first and a parts company second — the same shop that built our Gen 2 stock class race truck designs, welds and finishes these light mounts. Made in the USA.

What if you don't make a light mount for my truck?

Call us. We're a fabrication shop — if we haven't built it yet, there's a good chance we can. Reach us at (480) 718-9800 or stop by the shop in Mesa, Arizona.

Built by a Race Shop, for Trucks That Get Used

We've been making off-road great since 1998, and we built the first Ford Raptor to race the Baja 1000 in 2008. The race truck light bar design people still ask us for came off our own Gen 2 stock class truck. That's the background every one of these mounts comes out of — parts that have been on the front of a truck getting hammered in the desert before they went on the shelf.

The result is a light mount line that does the thing owners of nice trucks actually want: keep the factory bumper, keep every sensor working, add serious lighting, and stay free to run whatever light you want. Across eight Ford platforms, with the 2017–2026 Super Duty kit leading the way.
