Gen 3 Raptor Rear Links & Panhard Bar (2021–2024)

Every Gen 3 Raptor leaves the factory with rubber-bushed rear links and a rubber-bushed panhard bar. Under load those bushings deflect, the axle moves around underneath the truck, and the rear end feels vague exactly when you want it planted. Replacing them is the most cost-effective handling change you can make to a 2021–2024 Raptor or Raptor R.

Where to start: the billet panhard bar. It is the single part holding your rear axle centered side to side, it is the least expensive piece on this page, and it makes the biggest immediate difference in how planted the truck feels. Lower arms next, then uppers. Every kit here is CNC-machined from billet aluminum in the USA and installs in the factory mount locations.

Which Gen 3 Raptor rear links should you buy first?

If you are working through the rear suspension a piece at a time, this is the order we recommend — most change per dollar first.

  • 1. Billet panhard bar. Removing the rubber bushings from the stock panhard bar stops the axle walking sideways under lateral load. Most owners notice this one immediately on the road, not just in the dirt.
  • 2. Rear lower arms. The lowers carry acceleration and braking load. Billet lowers stop the fore-aft deflection that makes the rear end feel disconnected under power.
  • 3. Rear upper arms. The uppers control axle wrap and pinion angle. Completing the set removes the last of the factory rubber from the rear suspension.

If you would rather do it in one pass, the complete rear arm kits cover the uppers and lowers together and the panhard bar is bought alongside.

Ultra-Flex joint or uniball — which should you choose?

We build the Gen 3 rear arms two ways. Both are billet aluminum and both bolt into the factory mounts. The difference is the joint.

Ultra-Flex joint — our patent-pending design

A 17-4 stainless steel center ball pressed into a urethane body, which is pressed into a laser-cut stainless steel outer sleeve closed by two stainless side caps. The whole cartridge presses into the arm and is retained with a circlip, and the grease zerk threads into a slotted hole in the sleeve so the sleeve cannot rotate in the arm.

The practical result: you grease it through an external zerk with the arm still bolted to the truck, the urethane keeps it quiet instead of squeaking and clunking as it wears, the stainless internals stay lubricated so it shrugs off wet and salted roads, and when the urethane eventually wears you replace that one part rather than a complete uniball assembly. The stainless sleeve also means the urethane never works directly against your billet aluminum, so the bore in the arm is protected. The center ball is machined to the application, so no additional spacers are needed.

Uniball version — our original billet arms

1" FK uniballs with custom-machined 17-4 stainless spacers designed to fit the stock mount locations, plus a Delrin wobble stopper on the front mounts to keep the arms in alignment. The upper arm carries a 17-4 stainless post for the factory suspension travel sensor so the truck reads ride height correctly. FK uniballs are the industry benchmark for strength and these arms have been on Raptors for years.

Short version

Choose Ultra-Flex if you want the lowest long-term maintenance, a quieter rear end, or you live somewhere wet, humid, or salted. Choose the uniball version if you specifically want an FK uniball joint and are comfortable pressing a bearing when it eventually wears.

What the rear links and panhard bar actually do

The Gen 3 Raptor uses a five-link rear axle. Four links locate the axle fore and aft and control pinion angle; the panhard bar locates it side to side. Every one of those five connection points is a rubber bushing from the factory.

Rubber is chosen for isolation, not for location. It is soft on purpose. That is fine on pavement at moderate loads, but when you put real load into the rear end — hard acceleration, braking, an off-camber hit, a high-speed sweeper — the bushings compress and the axle moves relative to where the chassis thinks it is. The truck feels like it is steering from the back.

Billet arms with spherical joints replace that compliance with a defined pivot. The axle goes exactly where the geometry says it should, and the truck stops feeling vague under load.

Panhard bar options for the Gen 3 Raptor

We build three, and they are for different builds.

Billet Panhard Bar with Ultra-Flex Joint

Fixed length, billet aluminum, Ultra-Flex joints at both ends, and it reuses the factory bolts. This is the one for a truck at or near stock ride height that just needs the rubber gone.

Adjustable Panhard Bar — Johnny Joint type

1.5" chromoly tube, MIG welded and powder coated in texture black, with a forged 1" Johnny Joint rod end on the adjustable side and a Johnny Joint uniball on the fixed side. The urethane liner keeps vibration and noise down and the joint is serviceable. Adjustable length lets you re-center the rear axle after changing ride height.

Adjustable 41.5" Panhard Bar — Heim Joint

The long-travel bar. This is the required link if you are running our Gen 3 long travel rear suspension, not a stock-height upgrade.

Stock-length upgrade or long travel conversion?

Two different projects, and it is worth being clear which one you are on.

Stock-length billet upgrade

You keep the factory geometry, factory shocks, and factory mounting points, and you replace the arms and panhard bar with billet parts on better joints. Bolt-on, no fabrication, no alignment required. This is what most owners on this page are buying, and it is the right answer for a truck that sees dirt roads, trails, and fast desert running on the stock suspension.

Long travel rear conversion

A different scope entirely — new geometry, more wheel travel, and coilover or bypass shocks. If you are chasing 19 inches of rear travel and building toward a race truck, that is the long travel kit, and it needs the 41.5" adjustable panhard bar to go with it.

Fitment and what is included

Everything on this page is built for the 2021–2024 Ford F-150 Raptor, including the 2023–2024 Raptor R.

The billet arm kits ship as a pair with the spacers and hardware needed to install them. The Ultra-Flex arms need no additional spacers — the center ball is machined to the application. The billet panhard bar reuses the factory bolts.

Colors: raw billet aluminum, FOX orange anodized, black anodized, or blue anodized on most kits. Anodized parts should be cared for as anodized aluminum — see the care notes on the individual product pages.

Gen 3 Raptor rear link questions

What are the best rear links for a Gen 3 Raptor?

For most 2021–2024 Raptors, the best combination is the Foutz Motorsports billet rear lower and upper arms with Ultra-Flex joints plus the billet panhard bar with Ultra-Flex joint. That set removes every rubber bushing from the rear suspension, locates the axle precisely, and uses a joint you can grease in place and rebuild for the cost of a urethane body instead of a complete uniball assembly. If you are only buying one part, buy the panhard bar first.

Do I need to re-center the rear axle after a lift or leveling kit?

Yes. Changing rear ride height moves the axle sideways relative to the chassis, because the panhard bar swings on an arc. An adjustable panhard bar lets you correct that and put the axle back under the center of the truck.

Are Ultra-Flex joints better than uniballs?

For a rear link or panhard bar, yes. The Ultra-Flex joint lasts significantly longer than a conventional uniball, stays quiet instead of squeaking and clunking as it wears, resists corrosion because the stainless internals stay constantly lubricated, and greases through an external zerk with the arm still on the truck. It also rebuilds with a urethane body rather than a complete uniball assembly, and its stainless sleeve protects the aluminum bore in the arm.

Will billet rear links make the ride harsh?

Not with the Ultra-Flex joint. The urethane body damps impact and isolates road noise rather than transmitting it into the chassis, so you get the precise axle location of a spherical joint without the harshness that usually comes with metal-on-metal.

Do these fit the Raptor R?

Yes. The 2023–2024 Raptor R uses the same rear suspension architecture as the Gen 3 Raptor, and these kits fit it.

Is any fabrication or alignment needed?

No. The stock-length billet arms and panhard bar bolt into the factory mount locations. No cutting, no welding, and no alignment required.
