Billet Top Hats

Billet Top Hats

Billet Aluminum Top Hats for Ford Raptor, F-150 & Bronco Raptor

Foutz Motorsports billet top hats are CNC-machined upper shock mounts that replace the weak factory stamped-steel top hat on your stock FOX shocks. Designed, machined, and tested in Mesa, Arizona, each billet aluminum top hat bolts directly to your stock shock to add strength, correct ride height, and give your front end a clean, race-bred finish. Whether you run the big whoops or the Starbucks drive-through, an FMI top hat is one of the simplest, most cost-effective upgrades you can make to your truck's front suspension.

This collection covers fitments for the 2010–2014 (Gen 1), 2017–2020 (Gen 2), 2021–2023 (Gen 3), and 2024+ (Gen 3.5) Ford Raptor, 2015–2025 Ford F-150, and 2022+ Bronco Raptor. Choose stock-height top hats for a direct replacement with no lift, or lift top hats (¾", 1", 1.5", and 2" options) to gain clearance for larger tires and a more aggressive stance. Every top hat is available in Raw Billet Aluminum, FOX Orange Anodized, or Black Anodized.

Standard vs. Heavy Duty Billet Top Hats

FMI offers two tiers. The Standard billet top hat is a direct, stronger-than-stock replacement at a great value. The Heavy Duty billet top hat uses more material and a beefier design for trucks that see hard desert running, jumps, and heavy off-road abuse. If you regularly push your Raptor at speed or load it down with bumpers, racks, and gear, the Heavy Duty version is the safer long-term choice.

Why upgrade your stock top hat?

  • Prevents failure: Factory stamped top hats can crack, fatigue, and fail under hard off-road use. Billet aluminum dramatically increases strength.
  • Adds lift & tire clearance: Lift-spec top hats raise the front end ¾"–2" so you can run bigger tires without new shocks.
  • Keeps your stock shocks: Bolts to your existing FOX shocks — no full suspension swap required.
  • Built to last: CNC-machined from billet aluminum and anodized for corrosion resistance and a custom look.
  • American-made: Designed and machined in-house by the team that built the first Raptor to race the Baja 1000.

How to choose the right billet top hat

Pick by year and model first, then decide between stock height or lift, and finally Standard or Heavy Duty based on how hard you drive. If you're unsure which fitment matches your truck, our team has more Raptor experience than anyone — reach out before you order.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a billet top hat?
A billet top hat is the upper shock mount that secures the top of your shock to the truck's frame. A billet aluminum top hat is CNC-machined from a solid block of aluminum, making it far stronger than the factory stamped-steel part and able to add lift or correct ride height.

Do FMI billet top hats fit stock shocks?
Yes. Foutz Motorsports billet top hats are designed to bolt directly to your stock FOX shocks — no aftermarket shock or full suspension kit required.

How much lift do these top hats add?
It depends on the model. We offer stock-height (no lift) replacements as well as lift versions in ¾", 1", 1.5", and 2", depending on your year and truck.

What's the difference between Standard and Heavy Duty?
The Standard top hat is a stronger-than-stock direct replacement at a lower price. The Heavy Duty top hat uses more material for trucks that see aggressive desert running, jumps, and heavy loads.

Will a top hat let me run bigger tires?
A lift-spec top hat raises the front of the truck, adding clearance so you can fit larger tires while keeping your stock shocks.

What colors are available?
Every billet top hat comes in Raw Billet Aluminum, FOX Orange Anodized, or Black Anodized.
