2023+ Super Duty

The single most common ordering mistake on a Super Duty is buying a differential skid plate for the wrong axle. Ford put several different axles under these trucks across the same model years, so check the sticker on your diff housing or your door jamb build sheet first.

Front axles

• Dana 60 — the heavy front axle. Use the Dana 60 front differential skid plate.
• Dana M256 — the lighter front axle used on some configurations. Use the M256 front plate.

Rear axles

• Sterling 11.6 — 2023 and up. Use the Sterling 11.6 rear plate.
• Dana M275 / M300 — the heavier rear axles, typically F-350 and F-450.
• Sterling 10.25 / 10.50 — the earlier and lighter rear axles.

A differential housing is cast, and cast iron does not bend — it cracks. One good hit on a rock ledge or a buried stump can put a hole in a diff cover or split a housing, and that is a tow bill plus a rebuild. The plate is a fraction of that.

The rear shock skid does the same job for the lower shock mount and the shock body, which sit low and exposed behind the rear wheel on a Super Duty. Both kits are bolt-on, use existing hardware points, and come finished so they do not rust where they scrape.

If you are towing a trailer down a forest service road or running a work truck on unimproved ground, this is the cheapest insurance on the truck.

The Dual Tire Carrier Quick Release Modular Bed Organizer carries two spares, fuel jugs and a recovery jack while leaving the bed floor usable. It mounts to bolt-in cleats that sit flush with the bed ribs, and the whole rack lifts out on four quick-release pins when you need the bed back.

Do 2023+ parts fit my 2019 Super Duty?

Many of them do. The front light mount kit covers 2017–2026, the rear shock skid covers 2017–2026 F-250, and the Dana 60, Dana M256, Dana M275/M300 and Sterling 10.25/10.50 differential plates all cover 2017 and up. The Sterling 11.6 rear plate is 2023 and up only, because that axle arrived with the current truck. Check each product page.

Will a skid plate reduce my ground clearance?

Slightly — the plate has thickness, and it sits below the housing. In practice it trades a small amount of static clearance for a surface that slides instead of catching. A cast diff cover is the part that hangs up on rock; a flat plate with a leading edge is not.

Can I still service the differential with the plate installed?

Yes. The plates are designed to come off with hand tools for cover removal and fluid service.

Which antenna thread does my truck use?

Ford has used both 1/4-20 and M6 on these trucks. Unscrew the factory mast and check, or measure the stud. We sell both.

Are these made in the USA?

Yes. Everything with the Foutz Motorsports name on it is designed, laser cut, machined and welded at our shop in Mesa, Arizona.
