Description
A rear lower shock skid kit for the 2017–2026 Ford F-250 and F-350 Super Duty that shields the bottom of the shocks and the rear axle shock mounts from rock damage. Laser cut from 3/16" steel, MIG welded in-house and bolted on using the shock bolt.
The bottom of the rear shock and its axle mount hang low, right where rocks and ledges hit first. A crushed shock eye or a bent mount can take a truck off the trail. This kit puts steel under both so the rocks hit the skid instead.

Why Protect The Lower Shock Mounts
On a solid rear axle, the lower shock mount sits on the axle itself, which makes it one of the lowest points under the back of the truck. Drag it over a rock or drop it onto a ledge and the shock body, the shock eye and the mount take the impact directly.
A steel skid underneath turns that hit into a slide. The skid takes the contact, and the shock and mount behind it stay protected.
How It Is Built
- CNC laser cut from 3/16" steel and precision bent for accuracy.
- MIG welded in-house for durability and strength.
- Finished in black textured powder coat for corrosion resistance.
- Uses the shock bolt for strength, with a secondary rear bolt that secures the assembly and keeps everything aligned under heavy use.
Fitment
Ford F-250 and F-350 Super Duty, model years 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025 and 2026.
Fit on the F-450 has not been confirmed. Contact FMI before ordering for an F-450.
Installation
Bolt-on. Each skid mounts using the shock bolt, with the longer shock bolts included in the kit, and a secondary rear bolt secures the assembly and keeps it aligned.
