Upgrade your stock front shock top hats that are prone to failure with the latest advancement from the team at Foutz Motorsports.  Our new Heavy Duty Billet Top Hat kit provides the ultimate in strength and durability for your Raptor by using bigger and stronger WSSX14T - wide series 7/8 FK uniballs made with 17-4 stainless steel races and 400 series stainless steel ball.  These are the strongest Uniball available and provide more surface area on the ball than any other option.

Our new Heavy Duty Billet Top Hat not only uses the new stronger Uniball configuration but also employs a new threaded top retainer to help keep the Uniball in place and support the ring clip from coming loose under abuse.  The top cap threads into the main body and is retained with 4 stainless steel Allan screws to ensure it cant back out.  The new top cap design also adds extra support the the side of the Uniball where the center ball puts pressure on the race area to help keep the Uniball last longer

Our Phase 1 kit will add preload to the stock springs and provide about 1.5" of lift when installed with stock springs.

2010-2014 Raptor - Heavy Duty Billet Top Hat for Stock Shock - Stock Height No Lift

The kit uses 10mm studs to match Gen 2 Raptor shock towers and is designed to add 1.5 inches of lift without replacing the front spring or adding a lower collar. It delivers the preload you want—without the extra hardware.

CNC-machined from 6061-T6 aluminum, this top hat is built for performance and precision. The uniball spacers are made from 17-4 stainless steel, delivering exceptional longevity and resistance to wear. 

Why upgrade to this billet top hat?

  • The Phase 1 Billet Top Hat will add spring preload and provide about 1.5" of lift in the front while still using the stock springs.

  • The OEM top hat relies on a rubber bushing, which is prone to failure—especially when aftermarket springs are installed.
  • Failure of the factory bushing can allow the shock to drop out of the spring bucket, potentially damaging other suspension components.

  • Prevents costly suspension damage by replacing the weak link in your stock setup with a robust billet solution.

What's different from a standard Billet Top Hat Kits?

  • The original billet top hat uses a 3/4 standard FK Uniball and the new Heavy Duty Billet Top hat uses a WSSX14T 7/8" Uniball that provides nearly double the overall strength of the standard 3/4" standard Uniball

  • The addition of the threaded top retainer ensures the Uniball ring clip can't come out and let the bearing shift or fail.

  • The new threaded top retainer was also designed so that it holds pressure on the side of the bearing race at the thinnest area where it has the most pressure from the center ball to support the side of the race and making the bearing last much longer.

NOTE: Billet Aluminum top hats utilize a serviceable and replaceable uniball that will have to be serviced from time to time. The uniball is pressed into the billet aluminum housing that we manufacture and the uniball will wear out over time but can be easily replaced with a low cost replacement.

The amount of time the uniball will last is variable and will differ from customer to customer.

The uniballs are not something we manufacture at Foutz Motorsports. We use industry leading FK rod ends uniballs in all of our suspension components to ensure the best possible quality for your kit.

The uniball is designed to be a wear item and to be replaced when they start to wear out.

SOAPS / CLEANERS THAT DAMAGE :
High-pH (alkaline) soaps, degreasers, and acidic wheel cleaners can fade, stain, or strip anodized aluminum, especially when they contain sodium hydroxide (lye) or other strong acids. Heavy-duty fast-acting alkaline cleaners designed for engine bays or wheels should not be used on anodized surfaces.

WHAT TO AVOID :
High-pH (alkaline) cleaners
Heavy-duty degreasers
Wheels / engine bay cleaners
Oven cleaners (e.g., Yellow Cap, Easy-Off)
Products containing sodium hydroxide (lye)
Damage the anodic coating 
Hot Surfaces
Never wash in direct sunlight, as heat accelerates chemical damage
 Acidic cleaners
Wheel cleaners with strong acids
Nitric or sulfuric-based cleaners
Aggressive aluminum cleaners
 Aluminum brighteners or etchers

Products designed for raw or polished aluminum can strip the anodized coating

✅ HOW TO PROTECT ANODIZED ALUMINUM:

pH-neutral soaps 
only use cleaners with a pH between 6–8
Wash on cool surfaces
Avoid direct sunlight or hot parts
Test small areas first
Always try new products on a small, hidden area
Safe Alternatives:
Isopropyl alcohol (used carefully and sparingly)
• Mild Automotive Car Wash Soap
